A new Apple patent spotted online talks about using the front facing camera, light sensor, and the proximity sensor to measure the health data of a user. The patent also provides provisions for more advanced implementations like embedding electrical contacts capable of measuring body fat or ECG (electrocardiogram).

Apple’s LCD supplier Japan Display (JDI) has been seeking funds to help its restructuring efforts and set up an OLED factory. The company was said to be seeking $900 million from its shareholders and local banks to help its restructuring efforts. A new report from Nikkei now details that the company is also seeking an external investor to help it transistion to making OLED panels.
